What happens when teachers decide to play along with their students in chamber music lessons? This was investigated in the research project "The Collaborative Chamber Music Teacher". The researchers found that this approach had many benefits. Both students and teachers perceived the teaching method as professional, holistic, intense and rewarding. At the same time, it was a challenge for the participants to adapt to new student and teacher roles, despite the fact that the teaching method actively encouraged collaboration and shared responsibility.
