About Fredrik Hedelin
Fredrik Hedelin (b. 1965) studied composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Pär Lindgren and Sven-David Sandström, and continued his education by taking part in composition classes at Fondation Royaumont and IRCAM in France. In 2017 he defended his doctoral thesis ”Living Music: The Ritornello and Creative Music” at Luleå University of Technology, in which he discusses musical creation in relation to the term ritornell in the philosophies of Deleuze and Guattari. Fredrik Hedelin has been active as composer since 1993 and has written both chamber music and music for choir and orchestra. He has also composed electroacoustic music and music for instruments and real time electronics. Since 1998 Hedelin teaches composition and theory of form at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm.
