In September 2022, the CEMPE took the lead in coordinating the conference Musicians' and Performing Artists’ Health and Performance: Integrating Body and Mind (MHPC22) in close partnership with Creo (a union for arts and culture) and the Association of Norwegian Theatres and Orchestras. The conference attracted keynote speakers and presenters from around the world and successfully brought together over 200 teachers, practitioners, performers, students and researchers from 17 countries, in addition to the online audience following the livestreamed proceedings.
Over the course of three days, the conference featured a diverse array of presentations, workshops and performances, all aimed at raising awareness, fostering discussion and sharing knowledge and ideas on the health and well-being of musicians and performing artists. As a result, the conference did not only generate valuable insights and perspectives but also provided a platform for the initiation of a national network for performing arts medicine spearheaded by Creo.
